Pay It Forward: Read to Raise Funds for Muscular Dystrophy

by Christine Scarella on May 3, 2009

Australia’s Biggest Book Group aims to raise more than $1,000,000 towards Muscular Dystrophy research and care in Australia. More than 20,000 people in Australia are affected by MD, for which there is no known cure or specific treatment.

This innovative fund raising event is so easy to get involved in. You don’t have to run 10kms, gather sponsors, sell lamingtons, or grow a mo.

Simply register on-line, buy a copy of the newly released Versace Sisters by Australian author Cate Kendall and enjoy a hilarious read.

You can join ABBG’s on-line forum, have chats with the author and enter weekly competitions. There’s also a gorgeous pair of diamond earrings up for grabs as well as many other exciting goodies.

Australia’s Biggest Book Group was founded by Lucy Burns who was diagnosed with MD when she was 19. This incredible woman is also a mum, a doctor and an entrepreneur – read SNOBS’ feature interview with Lucy in SUCCESS here.

“We have an ambitious target of 100,000 participants, which would then raise over 1 million dollars for muscular dystrophy care and research,” says Lucy. ” So we need to spread our message far and wide and ask everyone to help us do this.”

Register now and get your copy of Cate Kendall’s Versace Sisters for $24.99 (RRP) + $4.49 for postage. Order more than one copy and each extra book is  only 99c to post
