More DIY Natural Beauty Products

Stay beautiful, and save a bundle, with homemade natural beauty treatments that will barely cost you a cent. You’ll find most of the ingredients in your kitchen!

COFFEE

The caffeine found in coffee is a natural dehydrator. What could be better for a few problem areas of cellulite? Some of the most expensive spas and spa products found around the world, marketed especially for the treatment of cellulite, contain huge amounts of caffeine as their only active ingredient.

All you need are some finely ground coffee beans mixed with enough warm water to create a paste. Lather on a thin layer wherever needed, and wait for an hour.

You may not see obvious results immediately, but if you repeat this for three or four days in a row, you will start to see the difference. For a supercharged concoction, add some salt!

VASELINE

This goo hasn’t been around for a century for nothing! It is the perfect barrier between your skin and the environment.

Put a thin layer on exposed body parts when going out in the cold for extended periods and lather it on feet and hands at bedtime (cover with socks and gloves to protect your bedding).

For added benefits, take a vitamin E capsule and mix the contents into a few spoonfuls of Vaseline. The healing properties of the vitamin E help repair dry, damaged skin – especially cracked heels and weathered elbows.

Heat it up for a few seconds in the microwave, and voila! A spa-quality treatment for pennies!

VITAMIN E

In addition to the capsule you take every day (or should!), vitamin E offers exceptional healing properties externally. Pure vitamin E has been shown to reduce scar tissue and is used in hospital burn centers.

Open a capsule by pricking the top and apply directly to your face, under your eyes, and dry spots such as back of hands, knees, heels and elbows.

Leave this on, as opposed to waiting and rinsing. If the liquid is a bit too greasy for you, simply add a few drops to your regular skin care products or body lotion.

It’s also great as a hair softener; add an entire capsule to your regular conditioner. Or, for over-processed hair, massage the oil directly onto the problem areas and leave it on.

Note: Do not substitute a store-bought brand of vitamin E oil because it’s unlikely to be 100% pure vitamin E. Best to visit your local health food store.

AVOCADOS

The high fat content of these fruits make them a real find when it comes to external and internal nutrition. Add a few chunks to the blender, a little lemon, and blend!

Slather on your face and neck and relax. Rinse off with warm water being sure to leave the moisturising fatty elements behind to do their job.
